Mobile data, battery and casting

  • Mind your data allowance: an hour of HD can use 2–3 GB, so use Wi-Fi for long sessions.
  • Exclude the player from battery saving (Settings > Apps, select the app, Battery > Unrestricted) if playback stops when the screen turns off.
  • Cast to your TV with Chromecast from players that support it, or install the app on the TV itself for the best picture.

Common Android IPTV problems and fixes

“Connection failed”

Check the server URL starts with http://, includes any port number, and has no space at the end. Then try again on Wi-Fi.

The video plays but there’s no sound

Most players have a choice of video players in their settings. Switch to the other player (for example from the built-in player to ExoPlayer or VLC) and try again.

Buffering

Move closer to the router or switch from mobile data to Wi-Fi. See our troubleshooting guide for more.
