Quick answer: to put IPTV on a Firestick:
- Install Downloader from the Amazon Appstore.
- Turn on Developer Options and allow Downloader to install apps.
- Open Downloader and enter the app code we send you on WhatsApp.
- Open the IPTV player and sign in with your Xtream Codes login.
- Wait for the channels and TV guide to load, then start watching.
What you need before you start
- A Fire TV device plugged into your TV and connected to the internet (see the list below).
- Your Elitnes login. After you choose a plan or request a free trial, we send a username, password and server URL on WhatsApp, plus the download code for the player app.
- A steady connection: at least 10 Mbps for HD and 25 Mbps for 4K. Run a speed test on the Firestick itself if you are not sure.
- About 10 minutes and your Fire TV remote.
Which Fire TV devices work with IPTV?
Any Fire TV device running Fire OS works with this guide, including the Fire TV Stick Lite, Fire TV Stick, Fire TV Stick 4K, Fire TV Stick 4K Max, Fire TV Cube, and smart TVs with Fire TV built in. For 4K channels, a 4K or 4K Max model gives you a faster processor and better Wi-Fi.
Some newer Fire TV models run Amazon’s Vega OS instead of Fire OS, and these may not allow apps from outside the Amazon Appstore. To check, go to Settings > My Fire TV > About. If your device shows Vega OS, message us and we will suggest the best option.
How to install IPTV on a Firestick, step by step
Install the Downloader app
From the Fire TV home screen, open Find > Search, type Downloader and select the orange Downloader app by AFTVnews. Choose Get or Download. It is free and comes from the official Amazon Appstore.
Turn on Developer Options
Go to Settings > My Fire TV. If you do not see Developer Options, open About, highlight your device name (for example “Fire TV Stick 4K”) and press the select button on your remote seven times, until you see “You are now a developer”. Then press back.
Allow Downloader to install apps
In Settings > My Fire TV > Developer Options, choose Install unknown apps and switch Downloader to ON. On older Fire OS versions this setting is called Apps from Unknown Sources. This permission only applies to Downloader, not to every app.
Download the IPTV player
Open Downloader and allow it to access files if asked. Select the address box, type the download code from your Elitnes welcome message and press Go. When the download finishes, choose Install, then Done. Downloader then offers to delete the installation file – choose Delete to save storage space.
Sign in with your Elitnes login
Open the IPTV player from Your Apps & Channels. Choose Login with Xtream Codes API (some players call it Add playlist > Xtream Codes). Enter any name you like, then the username, password and server URL exactly as we sent them, and select Add user or Next.
Load the channels and TV guide
The player downloads your live channels, films, series and the TV guide (EPG). The first load can take a minute or two. When it is done, open Live TV, pick a category and start watching. Press and hold a channel to add it to your favourites.
Put the app on your home screen (optional)
Press and hold the Home button, choose Apps, highlight the IPTV player, press the Menu button (three lines) and choose Move or Move to front. Now it opens in one click.
Best IPTV apps for Firestick
Your Elitnes login works in any player that supports Xtream Codes or M3U playlists. These are the three we recommend most often on Fire TV:
| App | Best for | Cost |
|---|---|---|
| TiviMate | A clean TV guide that looks like a cable box, with favourites and catch-up. | Free, with an optional paid Premium upgrade |
| IPTV Smarters Pro | Beginners: a simple layout with separate Live TV, Films and Series sections. | Free |
| IBO Player Pro | Using the same player on a Firestick and a Samsung or LG TV. | Free trial, then a one-off activation fee paid to the app developer |
Not sure which to choose? Start with IPTV Smarters Pro – you can switch players later and keep the same Elitnes login. Prices and availability of third-party apps can change, so we always send you the current download code.
Tips for smooth IPTV streaming on a Firestick
- Use a wired connection where you can. An Ethernet adapter for Fire TV plugs into the power cable and gives the most stable picture for live sport.
- On Wi-Fi, use 5 GHz and keep the router in the same room if possible. An HDMI extender (often in the box) moves the stick away from the back of the TV for better reception.
- Power it from the plug that came with the Firestick, not a USB port on the TV. Low power causes freezing and restarts.
- Restart once a week: hold Select and Play/Pause together for five seconds.
- Clear the player’s cache if it slows down: Settings > Applications > Manage Installed Applications, choose the app, then Clear cache.
- Keep Fire OS up to date in Settings > My Fire TV > About > Check for Updates.
Common Firestick IPTV problems and how to fix them
“Install unknown apps” or Developer Options is missing
Developer Options is hidden on newer Fire OS versions. Go to Settings > My Fire TV > About and press select on your device name seven times, as in step 2.
Downloader shows an error or the app will not install
Check the code for typos and try again. If it still fails, check your free space in Settings > My Fire TV > About > Storage and uninstall apps you no longer use. Firesticks need a few hundred megabytes free to install an app.
“Invalid username or password”
Logins are case-sensitive. Re-enter them exactly as written in your welcome message, with no spaces at the start or end, and make sure the server URL includes http:// and any port number.
Channels buffer or freeze
Restart your router and the Firestick, switch to 5 GHz Wi-Fi or Ethernet, and clear the player’s cache. Our IPTV troubleshooting guide covers more fixes.
The TV guide is empty
Open the player’s settings and choose Update EPG or Refresh TV guide. The first update can take a few minutes.
Firestick IPTV FAQ
Is it safe to install apps from outside the Amazon Appstore?
Fire OS lets you allow one app at a time, so only Downloader gets permission to install other apps. Only install apps from sources you trust, and leave the setting off for any app you don’t recognise.
Which Firestick is best for IPTV?
A Fire TV Stick 4K or 4K Max. They handle 4K channels and busy TV guides more smoothly than the Lite and have better Wi-Fi. The Lite is fine if you mostly watch in HD.
Can I use one Elitnes login on several Firesticks?
Yes. Install the app on as many devices as you like. How many can watch at the same time depends on your plan: 1, 2 or 3 devices. See our multi-room options.
Do I need a VPN to watch IPTV on a Firestick?
No, Elitnes works without one. If you choose to use a VPN for privacy, pick a server close to you, because a distant server can slow your streams down.
How do I update the IPTV app?
Most players tell you when an update is available. Otherwise, ask us for the latest code and install it through Downloader again – your login and favourites are normally kept.
